Travelers must walk approximately 3 miles unassisted each day along steep slopes in hot, dry weather at high altitudes
Some days include more than one scheduled hike
Travelers must be physically independent and able to maintain balance to participate in planned activities
Travel by van and train
Travelers should be prepared to enter and exit the vehicle multiple times daily, depending on scenery and wildlife
Not appropriate for travelers using wheelchairs, walkers or canes
Daytime temps range from 50–90°F, depending on season and location
Overnight temps can drop below freezing, depending on season
Elevation ranges from 4,000 to 7,000 feet
